Kladno Chateau

Kladno Castle is a fortress converted into a chateau in the town of the same name. Since the fourteenth century, a Gothic fortress stood in close proximity to the younger chateau, serving as the main residence of the Kladenský family from Kladno. After the extinction of the Kladno branch of the family, the fortress was inherited by the Žďár family from Žďár, who converted it into a Renaissance chateau in the mid-sixteenth century.
