Obytce is a fortress converted into a chateau in the eponymous village in the Klatovy District. The fortress was founded in the fourteenth century, but its preserved form is the result of Renaissance and Baroque reconstruction and further modifications. The fortress and the later chateau served as the center of the estate, which initially belonged to the Obytec family, followed by the Koc family from Dobrš, the lords from Gutštejn, the Trauttmansdorff family, and the Thun family.
